Hello,
I submitted a DNA sample for the Family Tree DNA project and received my results via email. Kit #141427. I did the 12 marker test. I am a little unsure as to how to compare my results with others of the clan. I entered my results into ysearch.org, requested my results to be made public and am a part of the Cameron study. But, I do not see how I can compare my results to other participant numbers listed on the website. Perhaps these questions need to be asked to FTDNA. I thought as several of you have done this project that you might have some insight.
Thanks, Chad Cameron

Hello Chad: Http://www,familytreedna.com/ Check left column and go for Y-DNA DYS Values. This will bring up the values of others whom you match, but NOT your own. Just download your own so you have a copy in your hand, to compare. Give it a GO ! Good luck 2006

Hi Chad I'm working on analyzing the Clan Cameron DNA data we have so far. You are part of what I'm calling our Cameron Viking Group 1..there are two other participants with matching 12 markers. your halpgroup is I1 which is a very common pattern in Scandinavia. Vikings raided and settled in Scotland between 850 and 1400 ad, so it isn't surprising to see this kind of mix. We can't really get much more precise on where in Scotland your forebears came from until we have a) more participants who know that and were from the same area, and b) more marker information. I know many people have been wondering about connections and I hope we can get the information up on the web site soon. best Kim
