Welcome Dubhdara!
I am not aware of any specific information regarding a historical relationship between the Camerons and McLures. Is there a reason you are asking the question? Clan McLure is a sept of Clan MacLeod, and as such probably interacted with Clan Cameron on numerous occaisions - as both Clans were present at a number of notable historical events. Clan MacLeod supported King Charles during the Civil War of the 17th century, and would have been allies of Clan Cameron during those struggles - although it was a MacLeod of Assynt who betrayed into the hands of his enemies the great James Graham, Marquis of Montrose - one of Scotlands greatest military leaders. During the 1745 rising, Clan MacLeod, under their Chief, Norman MacLeod of MacLeod, supported the Hamoverians. They took part in several battles - chased from the field at Inverurie by King James' forces - and as part of the Hanoverian contingent under Lord Louden they were on the losing side at the Battle of Moy in February of 1746. (This was when Donald MacCrimmon, piper to the Clan MacLeod, was killed and his brother wrote the well known "MacCrimmon's Lament" (Nae More MacCrimmon). The MacLeod's of Raasay fought during the rising on the side of King James and Prince Charles. I don't know where the McLures were during this time, or who they supported.
Do you have a connection with both Clans?
Slainte,
John
