I just want to say to my American kin, that we remember you on this terrible anniversary. Our thoughts are with all those who lost loved ones, and with the brave men and women, and their families, who are serving their Countries far from home, and making the world a safer place for all of us.
May God bless, and keep safe, those who are in harm's way in Afganistan and Iraq, and in other parts of the world. We owe our very freedom to those troops in this, and previous conflicts, who put their very lives on the line for freedom and democracy.
We also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. "At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them". Their heroism and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

John,
Thank you for the kind words. It means a great deal to many of us to hear from our Canadian cousins on this date.

Lest we forget... Thank you, John and Tom, for the posts. One wonders sometimes what good can come from something so evil and deadly? Lifting heart and prayers ~ we all mourn the loss from that sad day.

John, Tom , & gaelgal , I second that , and we in the U. S. owe a debt of gratitude to the many Canadians that took in so many stranded Americans into their homes that fateful day . May God bless them .

I just came in, from replacing the Maple Leaf with the Stars and Stripes on our flagpole. In honour of our American friends on this terrible anniversary. Our thoughts are with our American kin. We are family, and we will stand with you against whatever threats may emerge.
Our thoughts are also with our troops, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, British, and our allies. Many of whom are in harms way so that we may enjoy the peace and freedom that we have come to take for granted. May God Bless them and keep them safe to return to their families and a gratetful Country.
To those who would have us stay at home, and ignore the actions of those who would trample the rights of others, and seek to end the freedom that our forefathers fought and died for, I would remind them of the words of the great British statesman, Sir Winston Churchill, whose address to the U.S. Congress in 1941 is still relevant today.
.
God Bless our troops, and God Bless America, to whom we in the free and democratic world owe so much.
Ceartas! Saorsa! Ameireaga Gu Brath!

Thank you, John, for your kind thoughts. I have posted my flag on the flagpole at the front of my house about an hour ago, where it will fly for the next 24 hours. This terrible event should never be forgotten, because those who perpetrated it are still roaming loose, unpunished, unrepentant, and continuously conspiring to repeat their contemptable acts. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and a firm resolve to forever defend it. May God bless all those who have sacrificed their lives, so that we may remain free.

How easy some of us forget . To some of us after 9 years it's ancient history to them . I don't know the exact quote , but it goes something like this . Every new generation has to go through their own baptism of fire to realize what freedom really means . They owe a great debt to those who came before us , not looking for honor , or glory just doing a job that needed to be done . Now it.s up to us to be vigilant for the generations in the future can still remain free . Thank you John . My sentiments exactly .
