I would like to ask a favor , if anyone has the time I would like to see a translation of : SON OF THE HOUND: in Gaelic. For those who are not able to read Gaelic , the heading could be : SON OF THE HOUND: ( English / and in Gaelic. I was thinking that at the 2009 Clan Cameron Gathering someone could give it in English , and someone else could give it in Gaelic

Hi Jon, A literal translation is "Mac nan cu" - but I am not at all sure about my grammer. Our rallying cry is of course "Chlanna nan con ...." - which is plural and uses the word "Chlanna" which describes a clan, and is more literally "children" of the hounds - which doesn't sound quite so fierce.
There should be a number of gaelic speakers at the gathering, who could undoubtedly help you out.
Slainte,
John

Hi Tom,
Things are great here in Alberta, and I am doing very well. Tapadh leat! (I thought I should throw that in, since we are on a gaelic thread!) I hadn't been here in a while, and its great to see the Board is quite active.
Hope all is well with you.
John

Oops - you're right. Tapadh leat right back at you!!
Glad to hear you're doing well - we're all a-OK on this end as well. I'll catch you over on another board (as we're breaking the Gaelic only/Gaelic related rules!)
