Hi everyone,
if there's any of you around Fort William on Sat 11th Jan 2003 why not come the our ceilidh to raise some funds for our youth exchange with the Cameron's in New Zealand. The venue is Inverlochy Village Hall and kicks off at 9pm, tickets cost £5 at the door. So why not come along and dance like a maniac or give us a song....
Hope to see some of you there

Hi everyone,
sorry i meant to post an update on this event but keep getting side tracked before i get to this stage in the message centre. The ceilidh was a fantastic success with about 70 people turning up. I also understand there were a few spontaneous ceilidhs at various houses afterwards. The night raised over £600 towards the First light Exchange, so a huge thanks goes out to all those who helped organise the event and to those who supplied the music, drink and prizes for the raffle. We have now sent two boys, William and David Cameron over to New Zealand on this years leg of the exchange. May i also take this opportunity to wish them well in their adventures and to say that i hope you enjoy yourselves as much as i did in 2000.

Well this year's ceilidh was another success! ;D Despite the oh so typical January weather approximately 50 hard core ceilidh goers turned out for a fantastic night.... The weather outside may have been horrific but the dancing was terrific! At the end of the night we had raised just over £200 towards the First Light Exchange. Thanks again to all who helped epecially the organising commitee, the musicians, and the 50 brave souls who took on the weather to join us.
Astie.

Hi Astie, I hope you read this in the very near future. You're in the Lochaber area and my father was raised in Fort William, he left in 1948 to join the RAF. He spoke very little about his upbringing, the names of his grandparents who raised him, etc. I am seeking any information about him and hopefully connect with any relatives still living in Lochaber/Ft William. Please, get in touch at alysen@shaw.ca. Cheers.
