As a follow-up to my post below, regarding Andrew Jackson Cameron, born 1816 in Tennessee and later removed to Macon County, Alabama, I have found the following regarding his possible father, a William Cameron....Any help would be vastly appreciated:
William Cameron was living in TN from 1799 to the late 1820's. In 1829 William sold his property in TN to Rueben Whitson and moved to Lawrence Co.,AL where he is listed on the 1830 census. He probably was b ca 1777 in NC and married in 1798 perhaps in NC.d Dec 1847 Al - date of son James C Cameron petition as Administrator of Wm Cameron deceased for heirs to settle estate;
William married 3 times:
m1 Elizabeth Nowland or Nowlin;
m2 name unk;
m3 Lucy Zills (marriage record has been misread as Bills - handwritten "Z" confusing)
A total of 16 children fathered by William Cameron.

John; Sarah; Elisha; Elizabeth; Blanchy; James C; Amanda E; Francis; Harriett M; George W; Joseph N; Andrew J; Mary C; Robert N; Martha A. and William J. Cameron
