My name is Kathy (Shirley) Williams. I've been trying to trace my family trees. I am related to the Chambers and the Camerons. My mother side is the Camerons. My grandmother Rebecca Shepherd's mother was Judy Cameron, her father was Andrew Cameron born in 1856. His father was Isaac Cameron born Nov. 14, 1823. His father was Daniel George Cameron Dec. 13 1787 , his father was James Cameron and he came from Scotland. I don't know what year he was born or any further back. I know he came to America and settled in Virginia. On the Chambers side is my fathers mother Pearl Chambers. Her father was James OscarChambers his father Lafayetta Chambers his father Charles Chambers and his father was Moses Chambers. That's all I know about that side as well. So any info from anyone would be apprciated. Thank You Kathy Williams. You can email me at kattz85@hotmail.com

Kathy, My Cameron line is John Cameron b. 1769 Mull, Argyllshire, Scotland --his one son Alexander Cameron had a son James Cameron b. 1831 and although he is way too young to be your James --I'm thinking that this JAMES CAMERON may have been named for an Uncle. As scottish tradition has it many of the children where named after Uncles and Aunts. SO perhaps your James Cameron is the brother of our John Cameron b. 1769.
I am just now researching the parents and siblings of our John Cameron b. 1769...so IF I find a JAMES I will email you...or if you want the entire family history that I did --email me. ccameronphd@comcast.net
Have a nice day --Cathy Cameron (A Cameron by marriage)
