Looking for Camerons who can trace their ancestry to family of John of Kinlochleven. The family tree is given in "The Camerons" by John Steward.

Hello Bill: I have just seen your message on the Cameron Board. Our Cameron Family goes back also to John of Kinlochleven-Letterfinlay. My direct line is from Duncan Cameron of Perthshire, Scotland, d. in Chance Harbour, Nova Scotia. Do you have Duncan from N.S. in your direct line?

Dear Sandi:
I am not really sure if I desend from the Kinlochleven branch. The first ancestor I can document is Baptist Cambron, born about 1725 in Maryland, he most likely was a son of John Andrew Cameron who was transported to Maryland after the battle of Preston in 1715. In "The Camerons" by John Steward a family tree for the Kinlochleven family is given, listed is a son John who was "out" in 1715, I asume in the battle. Could this be my John who was transported to Maryland? I am hoping to find a male from the line who would be will to take part in the DNA project so I can see if there is a connection. I am #50158 in the project.
