I'm looking for some inspiration from sks. My Great Great Grandfather - Lewis Cameron - seems to have disappeared from Scotland sometime after 1881 and I'm unsure how to find out what happened to him. He was born in Kirkmichael, Banffshire in November 1849 and grew up in Tomintoul and Grantown on Spey. By 1871 census he was a saddler and on 1881 census aged 32 was still living with his parents (ocupation as saddler). Aged 18 he had an encouner with Jessie Grant (almost twice his age) and the result was my great grandfather John. Jessie never appears to have married. But the mystery is what happened to Lewis? Any suggestions?

Have you tried looking-up the Libindx. There are 40 Camerons born in Kirkmichael. When you have a chance Mark contact me.
