I have been left with the above statement as one of the few clues to my ancestry. I have been unable to find a Charles or any other Cameron dying at Oban in Argyll at 102 or any age approaching this. It is possible that Charles migrated somewhere (I can't find him in Australia). He would have died either late 1800s or early 1900s. Does anyone know of a Charles (or any name - there could well be a mistake) who died at an Oban elsewhere at about 102?

There is an Oban in Richmond County, Nova Scotia (on Cape Breton Island). There were (and are) a number of Camerons in that area. I had a brief look at on-line resources and didn't find anything, but it may be worth a look.
Do you have any other names associated with your Charles? I found a Charles Cameron, born 1790 in Glenborrode, Ardnamurchan, Argyle married to Christian Cameron b. 1795, children; Alexander 1816, Donald 1820, Sibella 1823, Archibald 1825, James 1827, Janet 1830, John 1832. He is around the right age, and in the right neighbourhood, but I don't know when he died.
My grandfather's name was Charles Russell Cameron, but he died in 1974.
Good Luck!
John

The Charles Cameron born in Glen Borrowdale is my ggf, I have not tracked down when or where he died yet, but there are no indications that he emigrated.
I'm interested to know where you found the details of the family as there are a couple of children that I wasn't aware of .
Regards Ian
