I have traced my family back to James Cameron who came to America during the Revolutionary War but I cannot find out from what part of Scotland he came. Any suggestions as to where I can research this?

1.James Cameron,b.1742,Farmer,from Strathspey,Perthshire.Arrived New York,May 1774 on "The George".
2.James Cameron,b.1750,Wright,from Stirling.Arrived New York,May 1775 on "The Monimia".
3.James Cameron,b.1753,Farmer,from Blair Atholl,Perthshire.Arrived New York May 1775 on "The Monimia".
