This may not be the right forum for this topic, this may not even be associated to the clan, but as I don't know the correct answers to either, I will post this here. In my class "The Literature of World War I," we just read a Scottish poet by the name of Charles Hamilton Sorely. He was an active poet who wrote and perished in the Great War. The instant I saw the name I thought back to the Sorleys who adopted my ancestor, Thomas Dollar, back in the 18th century. I don't know a great deal about the poet, and the jury is still out for me on his talent as a poet, but he is a fascinating character, and I certainly will look into him this summer. I wanted to make you all aware of his existence, and enquire if anyone knew anything else about him. We only know of some 30 or so poems by him, and all of them were published posthumously. Please post anything additional that you may know about him. If you feel that this more rightly belongs to the history and geneology forums, feel free to follow through on this in another forum, I just thought that those of you in this forum might be especially interested.
