I will be getting married soon and I am engaging in the (nearly impossible) task of finding a kilt hire service from which I can rent 3 Cameron kilts. It must be located within the US or be willing to deal with a coustomer in the US.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever find an answer to this question? I got married two years ago (almost three now) and we asked about at the games. Came up with someone at one of the kiltmaker tents, but I don't recall which one. Ended up that the guy had already bought a suit, so he was the only one in the wedding party to not have a kilt. All of the other groomsmen wore kilts and rented them from some place here in Atlanta. Would you like me to check and see from where?

I am still looking for one if they are willing to ship, I'm on the verge of just giving up and looking for other generic tartans I can have my best man wear (my fiance insists that it be basically red to match, some women love the kilt... others just don't get it).

When Mike and I got married three years ago (has it been that long?!) we had a piper, I wore an arisaidhe, he wore a kilt, and the bridesmaids all wore a Celtic necklace I had purchased for them as well as a shoulder sash with Clan Crest pin... the groomsmen didn't tell me anything about getting kilts and in fact, kept leading me to believe that they wouldn't be "caught dead" in one! Boy, was I surprised when I walked down the aisle to be married, and there they all were in kilts!! They rented generic tartans, so that would be what you would get as well. What part of the country are you in? I will send the Best Man an e-mail and get the phone number for you. I am in the Atlanta area. When will you need the kilt(s) and how many?

SCOTTISH MODERN ENTERPRISES: 6115 S. Archer Rd., Summit, IL 60501 (708) 594-5773 Be sure that Jack will be there, and he'll take care of everything... As Anna mentioned, you'll probably have to settle for a mixture of tartans, as these shops usually don't stock a quantity of any one clan tartan, in varied sizes. Regardless, Scottish Modern (A.K.A. The Scottish Shop) has approximately 150 kilts, from kids to large sizes. You can browse in person or simply give them a call. They're also have a full service tailor in-house (certain days of the week) and can fit you for a custom made kilt. Figure on about one month or so for a wait on that though, priced at about the average "going rate." Foundling...we hope to see you at the Illinois Saint Andrew Games this year. Feel free to check the Lake Michigan Branch webpage ( members.aol.com/TCAM1/lk_mich.html) for membership details, if you're so inclined.

Thanks for the word on Scottish Modern, I looked into it, they're only about a 20 minute drive from me. I've just been procrastinating on the Lake Michigan Branch, but the highland games are on my calendar so I can make sure to get some vacation days in, and I definitly want to be with the Cameron contengent.

Well, I guess if I had been a better responder to your chat, I would have seen that you were from Tom's neck of the woods... so to speak. Glad you two connected, and that he had someplace close for you to go look at kilts! How wonderful! You will have to keep us posted as to the date for the impending nuptials! Bon chance!
