Robert Cameron appears in Columbia co, NY in 1750's marries among the Germans there and known as Kammeren. His grandchildren move to Dodge co. WI in 1840's. Is there any way to find where in Scotland he came from and who are his ancestors.

You already may have seen this info, but in case you haven't - A quick search shows a Robert Cameron, born in 1734 in Marbletown, Ulster, NY. He married a Diana VanLeuven (born April 30, 1738 to Andries VanLeuven abd Anneken Oosterhout). They were married on December 2, 1760, and had a child, Catherine, who was christened on August 5, 1764 in Marbletown. It also appears that a lot of people have been searching for Robert - so it shouldn't be hard, with a bit of digging on the internet, to get more info.
I realize that this Robert is in Ulster County, not Columbia - but given the geographic proximity of the two counties, it is very possible that they are the same person.
I didn't see any info on Robert's parents, which is of course what you will need to trace them back into Scotland, but as I said, as other people have been looking, it is possible that if this information exists, someone else may have found it.
Good luck with your search!
John
