Dear Folks, I know I've entered some wrong things on the wrong boards, please bear with me, I'm new to the Clan. My mother's father was a Chambers and I've traced back to my 4th great granddad, James Chambers, born 1759 in Fife, Scotland. He came as a soldier with Gen. Cornwallis, after serving three years in the Colonies, he deserted, fighting on the side of the Colonies, which I've proven for S.A.R., James fought with the Washington Co., Pa. Militia and later bought land, raised a family and died 1837 in Beaver Co., Pa. Would like to hear from any Chambers from the County of Fife, Scotland. Would anyone know what time period the Sept of Chambers took its name, I realize each branch of the Sept might be at different times. Thanks for letting me bend your ears. Dave Seibert.
