Hi, I'm interested in the family and ancestry of Angus Cameron, inn/ferry keeper at Aird Ferry, Dornie, in Lochalsh parish. He married Ann McDonald and died in 1859. Unfortunately his parents names were left blank on his death certificate, but prior to living at Aird Ferry he lived in the Lochaber area, and was an army pensioner, possibly identical to an Angus Cameron whose discharge documents list his birthplace as Kilmillie (Kilmally?) parish.
Following his death his daughter Ann Cameron took over the running of the inn and ferry. Various Cameron nieces/nephews from Australia and Canada returned to help her as she grew older. She died in 1890. Two nephews (both named Donald Cameron) took over the business after that until at least 1901. I'm in touch with descendants in Inverness but I know there must be many more stemming from Angus's sons who went to Australia & Nova Scotia.
Information gladly exchanged

Hiya,
Unfortunately the Angus Cameron,Army Pensioner, born "Kilmillie",(WO97/840/7),that you mention,is my great-great-great grandfather who died in Lochaber in 1855.(Married to Susan McPhee incidentally).
There are a number of other appropriate Pensioners listed on the Public Record Office website with the name Angus Cameron,so hopefully one of them will turn out to be who you are looking for.Good luck.
Cheers,Chris.
