Hello,
I have just recently discovered the Cameron Clan website and message board and was wondering if someone could assist me.
My Name is Val Stopanski from Saskatchewan, Canada and I am looking for information on a Cameron Clan from Puslinch, Ontario. I have exhausted all avenues and thought maybe someone on this message board knew something about my great great grandfather Duncan Lochiel Cameron (b: 1816) in Perthshire, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1854.
Duncan married in about 1850 to Helen May Stewart (b: 1823) the Daughter of Alexander Stewart and Elizabeth MacGregor of Loch Rannoch, Fortingall, Perthshire.
Duncan, his wife Helen and her parents immigrated to Canada in 1854
Duncan and Helen had several children. Here is a list:
Jack or maybe John CAMERON b: 14 JUL 1852 in Scotland
Annie CAMERON b: 5 OCT 1854 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Isabella CAMERON b: 19 SEP 1856 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Annie CAMERON b: AFT 1859 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Isabelle CAMERON b: 20 JUN 1860 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Alexander CAMERON b: 27 JUL 1862 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Janet CAMERON b: 6 MAR 1864 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Robert Valens CAMERON b: 16 MAR 1866 in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario
Robert Valens Cameron was my great grandfather and he married Ella Grey (b: 1872) They had a son
Robert Stewart CAMERON b: 1892 in Guelph or Gault, Ontario (my grandfather)
I am looking for any information on Duncan Locheil Cameron.
- The name of his parents
- Any siblings and if they stayed in Scotland.
- or where exactly he is from in Perthshire, Scotland?
Any information pertaining to Duncan Lochiel Cameron b: 1816, Perthshire, Scotland and his family would be a great asset.
At the moment I am at a stand still and if I am unable to obtain new information on Duncan Lochiel Cameron then I guess thats as far as I will.
Thank you for your time and help in the above matter,
Val - great great granddaughter of Duncan Lochiel Cameron
