I would like to find out who is attached to which thread # so that I can contact them if it seems appropriate. Anyone else interested in this? Also, there is no family information with our case # listing, where the close DNA matches are. Other folks have a nice little family history, but I can't figure out how they got it there. Help, please. Looking for William Cameron b. 1799 in upper Canada. Thanks, Lisle

This seems like a reasonable question and comment. It seems that you have to be the one who has submitted your DNA swab and paid the required fee. The comment about making the info available to others is quite another thing. Iit would seem by having the DNA done and sharing with others of the same Participant DNA information, that it would be of great assistance in determining our common ancestor. After all, this seems to be the common denominator, but somehow not being understood. Perhaps individuals are nervous of giving their identity. I know others feel as do I and I feel very keen in finding a common ancestor for # 29230 which has 8 same first line of gene markers. However NOT one person has come forward with dates and their earliest name on their chart. My earliest date is 1783, and the name is Charles . I can't HEAR you ! Thanks for participating and furthering the name of the CAMERONS ! Delphine

Hi - I am #28966 - and one marker away from Delphine, and Chris Doak (as well as many others here). It has been fascinating to find out that many of us here are actual blood relations. No genealogical doors have been opened for me yet through the DNA project, but I remain optimistic!
Slainte,
John

Hi Lisle I've been hunting Camerons in Upper Canada who came there in 1785 for years now...There seems to have been a William Cameron associated with my Angus and his son Donald who lived next door in Cornwall. I have the DNA from our line posted at www.calcamerons.com/pages/unsolved/famswcam.html. Dean Cameron has also recently volunteered to get his in the system which should nail down the Cameron of Clunes line that went to Ontario. If you know of anyone in the William Buy Cameron line who might be willing to get theirs tested, I'd buy. It's starting to get much cheaper than travelling to musty libraries.. Best Kim

Hello, I have recently submitted a DNA sample for my brother Kit # 125428, no results yet. We are decended from Duncan Gaines Cameron B: Abt 1785 - D: After 1865. The first information we have on him is a marriage certificate. He married Nancy Winters May 5th, 1822 in Orange Co. NC. We have recently found his will which gives us proof that he came from Scotland. Our Line is as follows:(1) Duncan Gaines Cameron B: abt 1785 in Scotland - D: after 1865 in GA(2) Valentine T.- B:11/1840 in Franklin Co. GA - D: 2/29/1924 in GA. (3) Thomas Hudson B: 3/4/1872 Jackson Co. GA D: 1/14/1960 in Prattville, Autauga Co., Alabama (4)Alvin Monroe B: 8/9/1902 LayFayette, Walker Co., GA D: 6/02/1995 in GA(5)Charlie Asberry B: 1/13/1926 in Etowah Co, AL. D: 1/2/2006 in Etowah Co. AL (6) Mark A Cameron b: in AL. If anyone out there is in this line I would certainly be glad to hear from them. Maybe this information will help someone else. Thanks CameronDaughter.

Hi Lisle
I've been getting some amazing help from two crackerjack Cameron researchers in Ontario lately and have 3 William Camerons born within a couple of years of 1799 in Ontario. Do you have any more information?
Kim

Hi, Kim, I seems that my William was born in Quebec city in 1797, documented by a baptismal certificate. I don't know where his brother and sister were born. His father and brother were in the 26th of Foot at that time. I believe that the family moved to the Toronto area after William's father died in 1800. #35704 has a 12 marker match for the 1st 12 markers, but none on the other markers, if I read them correctly.
