For those who met and enjoyed the company of David Cameron when he briefly visited us on his way home from New Zealand back to Scotland......here is his recollection of his time with us and his update on the trip so far:
G-Day fellow Clan Cameron friends,
Thats me getting organised to go to Hawiai, its been an action packed few weeks, since arriving in Australia
I arrived in Sydney and was met by Val Smith president of Clan cameron NSW and she gave me a tour of Sydney the Anzac
Bridge, went to the Opera House then had dinner in a very nice restaurant then went to my hostel, where I was living with 5 girls and me. A few of the girls and I went and climbed the Harbour Bridge the following day then the 6 of us went to have dinner at the Rocks very nice, the following day I went on a full day tour, taking in Palm Beach where they film Home & Away unfortunately they weren't filming then we went to a few beaches, played some beach volleyball then to the pub with the rest of the bus, climbed a very old lighthouse, went to the World Famous Harry's pie shop where we had a pie floater, a meat pie topped with mashed potatoes, and smothered with mushy pees - beautiful, then off for a tour of Kings Cross!
The following day, Val picked me up and we went for a tour and met the past President of Clan Cameron & some of there members, there we went for a walk to Echo Point, and a drive to the Blue Mountains, and the 3 Sisters, then back to Val's where I was staying lovely house. We had some dinner and I was shattered of to my bed as another full day, first thing I caught some sun by
her swimming pool and watched her daughter teach horse riding, on their arena. Then we went on a drive where we caught a lot of the sights (sorry can't remember exactly there names) took me 6 months to get used to the New Zealand word! Though we went to a beach and had some lunch, then went to get some fresh Oysters for dinner, when we went back I tried the oysters but just
couldn't swallow them, then we went out for an Indian was lovely tried different foods then back and off to bed.
Sue Catterall came and picked me up early the next day and we went to Koala park which I loved, got to stroke a Koala and was very close to Kangaroos, Wallabies and many other native animals. Sue is the vice president of Clan Cameron and is involved with about 3 other Clans who and is president of Clan MacLennan.
Sue took me to a very prestigious boarding school and I had a look around the swimming pool and games room. Then off to see a friend who I met in NZ the South Island who was staying in Coggee. We then went for a walk to Coggee Beach, then Tamarama then on to Bondi quite a long walk then we got the train to see Sue's daughter Debbie where I stayed and was taking
out for a few drinks with her friends then the following day a drive around then to a 21st birthday. What a great time I had then up at 6am to be taken for my flight to Cairns with Val & Sue - Thank you very much.
Since arriving in Cairns its has been none stop as well. Checked into my hostel very nice has rooftop swimming pool but was raining as I arrived, went out with the guys from my dorm then went on Uncle Brians Bus tour the next day, where we visiting Waterfalls where we swam through and sang songs, was another Rangers fan so we were singing Rangers songs, the falls were where they filmed the Timote shampoo advert so the girls were trying to throw there hair back, we then went around a Rainforest, swam in a Volcanic Crater alongside turtles and fish then went Platypus spotting.
The next day went to Cape Tribulation we we went Crocodile spotting, some more rainforest and some beaches, and for the past few days been staying with family friends in Port Douglas. I'm exhausted!!!
Take care,
