Scottish House officially opened its doors to the public on St Andrew's Day. Scottish House is located in the historical house called "Willow Park" on the corner of Edgeworth David Avenue and Sherbrook Road, Hornsby. This is the first of its kind in Australia. Anna Orpen and I (Sue Catterall, Vice President of Clan Cameron NSW, Newsletter Editor for Clan McLennan NSW) run it on a Wednesday. This is an advice centre for everything Scottish. Come and browse through our archival library re clans and history. Find out about Scottish events on around Australia, where to buy or hire a kilt, everything from pipe bands to gaelic choirs. Anna heads the team of Clan Campbell genealogists including myself, who are compiling a book on Campbell families into Australia up until 1855. Scottish House is for all clans. Sue is also working on Camerons, McLennans, McRaes, McKenzie, the Royal Stewart/Stuart line etc.
I tried unsuccessfully to insert Campbell into this text but traitor was inserted in its place. When accessing this site sometime later the word traitor had been removed. Maybe as a clan we should re-check the histories of Clan Cameron. My Cameron's who are Lochiel Cameron's, as well as Sir Donald Cameron of Lochiel relate to them, as does my McRae family. THE WORD TRAITOR WAS PUT INTO MY TEXT ILLEGALLY and this is a shame as I thought we are suppose to unite. This is my opinion, I mean no harm in what I say. Call in to Scottish House and see us sometime if in the area. We operate from 10.00 a.m. until 3.00 p.m. Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's but Anna and I are only there on a Wednesday. Come and have a cup of tea or coffee with us. There is to be a genealogy day for beginners in February or March with a concert in the New Year. I will advise these dates soon.

"Buster" I could not agree more with you about the word traitor popping up when one tried to type the Campbell family name-as I did in a post about the battle of Sherrifmuir. Apart from 56 Jacobite prisoners being named Campbell on the lists compiled by the Victorious Hanoverians after Culloden, many Campbells have been great Scots patriots over the centuries in many causes. To use the word traitor as a synonym for Campbell could be mildly humourous; but it is sadly inaccurate historically-many clans including ours have both villains and heroes.
