Those wishing to attend a highland game while in Scotland go to www.rspba.org . Then you click on calender for events . For those who would like to attend the WORLDS PIPE BAND COMPETITION in Glasgow , the date for the competition is August 15 , 2009 I was there in 2004 , and really enjoyed it . It's like the Super Bowl over here in the States .

While going through my Cameron , and Scottish collection I've come across a article from the 60's that was printed in the " OMAHA WORLD HERALD " The article stated that the city of Alexandria Virginia tried to ban the playing of bagpipes within the city . Sine the article is too big to pst I'll be bringing it with me for any interested parties to read if interested in doing so .

Thanks Jim - great to see another "Facebook Clansman" over here at the Message Centre. I'll definitely concur with you, the Clan MacDuff is a nice hotel. It's a bit south of Fort William (perhaps a solid five minutes or so) but is definitely a great last minute choice.

Since they are a pipe band I hope I can address my query in this forum . I was asked if I know of any Irish Pipe Bands ? The ones that I do know of are based in Colorado . If anyone has a address , or a email address for them could you either post them , or send me the address by personal message ?

Came across a color picture of a American Civil War piper in a replica of a piper's New York 79Th Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders Uniform . If any pipers are interested in seeing what it looks like go to your browser and type in dress uniform of the 79TH Regiment New York State Militia ( Cameron Highlanders ) 1859

Help ! I'm looking for a vocal version of Highland Cathedral On CD . I Have botth the non-vocal Phil Coulter , and the non- vocal Royal ScotsDragoon Guards version . Anyone know where I can get one? I might be helping a couple plan a Scottish Wedding next year. Please suggest various vocal artits , and groups . Also if anyone finds what I'm looking for I would like all the information that I could have . Such as the name of the CD , and CD order information It could be something like The Bonny Scots CD 123 . They also wanted to know if I knew where they could find a piper which I do know where I could find one for them, Scottish dancers , and soeone to help them plan a Scottish Wedding . I told them I would be happy to help them . They took one of my cards so I'm hoping to hear from them .

How many of you watched the Rose Parade ? The reason I'm asking is that the State Firefighters Association of California in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the New York firefighters who died on 9/11 of 2001 had their Bagpipe band march in the parade .

not sure of the details but if you try and get in touch with The Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums they should be able to give you the right information.
Cheers Astie
