 REMEMBRANCE /VETERAN'S DAY
« Thread Started on Nov 8, 2009, 11:07am »

Post your thoughts about those who are serving in the military whether they are American , Canadian , or wherever they're from . These brave men , and women deserve our prayers , and support , they are your brothers , sisters , aunts , uncles , grandparents , mothers , & fathers . Let them know that you appreciate the sacrifices that they make so others could have a better life . If they are in a hospital visit them let them know that their sacrifice wasn't in vain , if they need someone to talk to take the time to listen .

In memory of those who have served, and in honour of those who serve us today, whether it be in Afganistan, Iraq - or anywhere in the world. We owe everything to the brave men and women who put on the uniform and put their lives on the line so ours can be free.

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

In memory of those who died at Fort Hood . These brave men , & women didn't die in the heat of battle , but instead they died on home soil . which made it all the more tragic . Whether on a battlefield ,or at home on a military base twe should all honor them for their bravery . So on this day let us pause to pray for them , and to comfort those who survived . Reach out to the families of the fallen , askm then if you can help in anyway , but if they want to be left alone for a while then do so . Just let them know that when they are ready to talk you'll be there to listen .
